How the AP Statistics Exam Is Scored

The AP Statistics exam consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Short-Answer Questions (SAQs), Document-Based Question (DBQ).

Section I Part A includes 40 MCQs, contributing 50% to your total score.

Section II includes 5 SAQs, contributing 38% to your total score.

Section II includes 1 DBQ (13% of score).

Your raw scores from each section are weighted using official multipliers (MCQ: x1.251.8753.125) and combined to create a composite score out of 100, which is then mapped to an AP score of 1–5.
